Product Review: Chocolate Chip Walnut and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Gregory’s Gourmet Desserts
This Friday past, I popped into Gregory’s just knowin’ I was gonna get my hands on a coffee cookie. Yes, coffee. Am I coffee drinker? No. Do I like the taste of coffee? Yes. Do I like the way Gregory’s bakes ground coffee into his chocolate chip cookies? Mm hmm. Did they have any dang on coffee cookies when I got there? No, not a one, so I got something else instead.

Prices are not always posted, which I don’t particularly like. Also, because space is so limited, a few items — like the cookies — may be tucked behind a bakery door or a partition, and it can be hard to determine if what you want is still available. The clerk handles all items; you can’t physically touch your items until you pay for them. I love that. I like knowing that not every Dick and Jane touched food that I’m going to put into my mouth.

The clerk was kind, which is normal at Gregory’s. People are kind, and they handle business, but they don’t do that fakey fake, saccharine thing associated with what’s conventionally associated with good customer service.

The cookies were mediocre, at best. They weren’t gross, but they weren’t tasty, and they most certainly weren’t worth the $3.82 paid for both of them. I felt robbed of my junk food calories for the day. If I’m gon’ eat butter, sugar, and flour, then I want to feel satisfied. I wasn’t.

They’re cookies. They were put inside a bag. I pulled them out of the bag and ate them. They didn’t fall apart. It was all good.
Will I go back? Yep. I like Gregory’s. These items aren’t the greatest, but some of the other cookies and the cobblers are puh-retty tasty.
